Mikheil Janelidze has met with Germany’s Federal Foreign Office Special Representative for Eastern Europe, South Caucasus and Central Asia, Andreas Peschke
On the sidelines of the Batumi International Conference, the acting Foreign Minister, Mikheil Janelidze met with Germany’s Federal Foreign Office Special Representative for Eastern Europe, South Caucasus and Central Asia, Andreas Peschke. Mikheil Janelidze thanked Andreas Peschke for his visit to Georgia and participation in the conference.
The sides emphasized the role of Germany in Georgia’s European and Euro-Atlantic integration process. Mikheil Janelidze expressed his gratitude for Germany’s strong support of Georgia in this process.
Special attention was paid to Georgia’s European integration agenda. Mikheil Janelidze brought to the attention of the German side the Georgian Government’s roadmap for EU integration and a series of other initiatives aimed at achieving a greater level of physical, institutional and sectoral rapprochement with the EU and the consolidation of reforms in the country.
Discussions during the meeting focused on the security situation in the region. The Georgian side provided the Foreign Office Representative with information on the recent developments in Georgia’s occupied regions. The sides exchanged views over the Georgian Government’s peace initiative “A step toward a better future”
Germany’s Federal Foreign Office Special Representative for Eastern Europe, South Caucasus and Central Asia arrived in Georgia to attend the Batumi Conference “Georgia’s European Way”. Andreas Peschke participated in the thematic panel discussions on the strengthening of regional and global relations.
