Tomáš Petříček is senior non-residential fellow at the Centre of Global Political Economy at the Institute of International Relations in Prague. He received Ph.D. in International Relations from Faculty of Social Sciences, Charles University in Prague, and M.A. degree in International Political Economy from University of Warwick.
He used to serve as a Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic between 2018 and 2021. He previously worked at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs and the European Parliament. He was external lecturer of International Political Economy at the Faculty of Social Sciences, Charles University in Prague. His research interests lie in the area of international political economy, new technologies and development, societal resilience and global environmental politics and climate diplomacy.
He is married and has two children.
