The Slovak Republic took over the rotating presidency of the Council of the European Union on 1 July. Slovakia is believed to be having its first historic tasks within the European Union. However, its long-term priorities have been challenged by the result of the EU Referendum in the UK, political and economic instability, security threats and continuing immigration. The Visegrad four (V4) countries (Slovakia, Czech Republic, Hungary and Poland) have been undoubtedly strong supporters of the cooperation between the EU and the EaP countries. Thus, one of the Georgia’s European Way Conference’s panel will focus on the Slovak EU Presidency’s priorities regarding the European Neighbourhood Policy, enlargement agenda and enhancing cooperation between the V4 countries and the EaP countries in the context of current geopolitical challenges in the region.
