Session III: EU for Georgia – Assistance, Cooperation and Development. Conclusion
14th International Batumi Conference “Georgia’s European Way – Ensuring Regional Stability” was concluded with the third and final session titled “EU for Georgia – Assistance, Cooperation and Development.” Topics addressed included: the EU Development Cooperation policy and its implications for EaP countries; main priorities for EU assistance in the 2017-2020 indicative period; and EU4Bussiness and EU4Energy initiatives as the main drivers for transformation.
Discussion was moderated by Policy Analyst of the European Policy Centre, Amanda Paul. Speakers included: State Minister of Georgia on European and Euro-Atlantic Integration, Victor Dolidze, Ambassador of the European Union to Georgia, János Herman, Director of Lending Operations in EU Neighbouring Countries of the European Investment Bank, Heinz Olbers, Managing Director for Eastern Europe & Caucasus of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, Francis Malige, Chairwoman of Georgian Farmers’ Association, Nino Zambakhidze.
