Born 1960 in Cracow.
He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, Philosophy, History and doctoral studies.
Bogdan Klich has been Senator in the Polish Parliament since 2011 and is currently minority leader. Before entering the Senate, he was Minister of National Defence (2007–2011) and Member of the European Parliament (2004–2007) where he chaired the Delegation for Relations with Belarus. In the years 2001–2004, he was member of the Sejm (lower house of the Polish parliament). As the Deputy Minister of National Defence (1999–2000) he was responsible for Poland’s cooperation with NATO. He holds MD and MA in History of Art from the Jagiellonian University in Kraków. He is lecturer at the Department of European Studies at the Jagiellonian University. Senator Klich authored numerous publications on foreign policy and international security. In 2001 he founded the Institute for Strategic Studies think tank in Kraków. In the late 1970’s and 1980’s he was active in the democratic opposition movement. Currently, he is a member of regional and central authorities of the Civic Platform political party.
