Ambassador Elisabeth Tichy-Fisslberger, Director General for Legal and Consular Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Austria, chairs the Task Force on Combating Human Trafficking that coordinates and intensifies anti-trafficking measures in Austria. She was appointed as first National Coordinator on Combating Human Trafficking in March 2009. Ms. Tichy-Fisslberger is a career diplomat, who previously served as a Deputy Director General for European and Economic Affairs as well as a Director for General EU Matters and EU institutions at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Austria. She was also posted in diplomatic missions of the Republic of Austria to the UK and to the Republic of Ireland as well as to the Permanent Representation of Austria to the EU (1992-2002). Ambassador holds law degree from Vienna University and currently pursues her academic career at the Vienna Diplomatic Academy and at the University of Vienna.
